Steven M. Ross is a commercial finance executive and serial entrepreneur whose career has been built at the intersection of capital markets, deal origination, and business growth. As Chief Revenue Officer of MidPoint Capital Partners, LLC, Steve leads the firm's origination efforts — connecting qualified borrowers with direct capital across bridge, construction, hard money, and permanent commercial financing from $1M to $250M+.
Steve's lending career began in his early 20s when he joined a mortgage brokerage as both a broker and an equity partner. Within a short period, he and his partner raised millions in foreign investment capital to transition from brokerage to direct lending — originating real estate and business loans as a principal lender. That early experience on both sides of the capital table — raising money, underwriting risk, and closing deals — gave Steve a practical fluency in commercial finance that few originators develop at any stage of a career, let alone before age 30.
Steve brings an unusually well-rounded perspective to commercial lending: he has been the borrower structuring deals under pressure, the broker sourcing capital, and the lender evaluating risk. He understands what it takes to move a deal from term sheet to close, and he communicates directly with both borrowers and partners to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
Based in the Chicago area, Steve works with commercial borrowers, investors, and deal sponsors across the country.
